I have always known that I wanted a early 90's model GT. I have saved and now almost ready to buy. I have found this one nearby... LINK</P>

The question/s I have are, what should I look out for? What should I ask... etc... I know I want a 5.0 GT, but know very little about them right now.</P>

Thanks!</P><edited><editID>cleck673</editID><editDate>38024.8659375</editDate></edited>

seems nice I alwayed like the blue 2 tone..as I'm not a gt fan..member make a lower offer as you can always go high..do a car fax, look the body over for over spray, dents, rust, bondo, check the frame, strut towers etc..look for leaks in the trans engine rear, tel the guy you'll meet him at a certain time show up an hour early so he can't warm it up before you get there so you can listen to the engine and see if it smokes..smell the oil if automactic smell it and check the color...drive it kinda hard and hit the brake looking to see if it pulled and watch the rear view for smoke when you get on it

looks good. make sure you act like you know your stuff (even if you dont) so it will be easier to get the price down. if he looks like a dumass then you can say "that will cost about $1000 to fix, so i will offer $3500". he might fall for it. you dont have to worry about rust as we do up here, but make sure that there isnt any. take a look at the tires too. look to make sure that there is even tire wear. that will tell you how the suspension is.

I was fairly smooth. I brought my dad (Races SCCA Solo2 and Z Car Restorer). We pulled up in his 2001 Yellow Vette.... We looked it over, test drove it. It ran GREAT... Everything but the shifter was stock. There are some cosmetic problems... The GT Ground effects are faded and scratched in a few places. We talked about other crap for an hour. I told him I was interested, but needed to look at a couple others 1st, then evaluate how much the repairs would be. Told him that I could not spend all my wad on the car if there were still some items to repair. The Sunroof is solid and does not leak. The drivers side handle needs replaced. Obviously the ground effects. The main pully belt is dry rotten, but still functional. The driver seat is ripped. Other than that, it seems like a good car. I am going to call him tommorow with an offer.</P>
