Default Cheap/free exhaust sound mod

I have a bone stock 87 5.0, in great shape, but as the exhaust is also stock, it doesn't have that mean growl that we all desire.

Is there a way to add some growl to this exhaust system without replacing it all with a performance system? An exhaust tip maybe? Punch a hole in the muffler with a screwdriver? lol...

Accepting any suggestions, with thanks.

Take a 1/2in drill and a big ****ing hammer and beat the headers off the heads and drill out the exhaust ports.....And there you have it...

Why not just get some cheap glasspacks welded in at your local exhaust shop...

We used to have glasspacks installed, drive until they were hot, and then spray them down with cold water. It broke up the fiberglass fill and made them loud as crap!

The first thing i did while saving money was remove the stock h-pipe and hollow out the 4 cats.

just pull off the stock cat back. Its 4 nuts, and 4 rubber hangers and its pulls right out (if you have it on a lift that is)

Save some money up and replace the mufflers with some turbos. A pair shouldn't be more than $60-80 and have a shop weld them in for a few dollars or better yet pull the current mufflers off buy some exhaust clamps and do it yourself. I did the same stuff mentioned before when I was younger too but it won't sound better it'll just sound like a rusted out exhaust system.

Take a hack saw and cut the exhaust pipes right after the 02 sensors. It will sound like a drag car.
