Default sweaking noise

when my 89 5.0 notch is idling or moving, there is a noise that sounds like a sweaky belt coming from under the car. if i put a tiny bit of pressure on the clutch pedel, its goes away. anyone know what this could be? thanks

I'd be inclined to say it's the throw out bearing in your trans.

Not a big deal. It will eventually get worse. then you'll be replacing the clutch assembly along w/ the throw out bearing.

so what should i do? i planned on getting a new clutch sooner or later, so if im droppign the trans i might as well. what is a good clutch for minor engine mods and a heavy foot? also, what caused the throwout bearing to go? i consider myself pretty good at driving a stick...

That's a question for a new thread! LOL. I still have the stocker in mine w/ 150k on it. Still workin' great.

The bearing is a sealed unit. They just go bad after a period of time. Some last longer than others.

The cable won't make a chirping noise like a squeaky belt. It's the t/o bearing. I guarantee it!

dammit i was hoping it was just an adjustment... it did kind of make sense though. i put a little pressure on the clutch it goes away, if i adjust it that way, its goes away.... right?
