supercharger

RE: supercharger
Actually, it is ALL of the 5.0 motors. It is a myth that the Hypeurtectic pistons aren't as good for boost or what not, but the truth is that they are actually a better fit in the cylinder walls, they are not as tough as forged pistons when it comes to detonation, but then again a forged engine wont do well with detonation either. Which is how my stock engine snapped the crank.
I changed my mind, I am going with a P1sc Pro-charger as they are the same price as a vortech on Ebay, and produce more power.

RE: supercharger
Hey Paul,
I'm not an expert on this, but if you have a stock motor I'd suggest lower PSI, stable power is better than power that you car can't handle.
I had a Votech V1 S-trim that was doing 10 PSI on my 91 Mustang GT with 1.6 svo rocker arms, E303 cam, full exhaust, 67mm throttle body, cold air intake, 24 pound injectors, etc etc. It ran a 13 sec 1/4 mile and blew the head gaskets.
Alot of people say that the 24 pound injectors that the supercharger kit provides is "just" enough to get buy for the blower, bigger injectors are recommended as well as after market heads if you want for everything to run smoothly. In my opinion, you can't have a power adder all by itself with out the coresponding parts that'll complement the setup.
I say be safe and use lower boost, or be smart, build up the corresponding components and then do higher boost. At the same time, the blower setup will cost you alot more than a shot of NOS.
Still, I can't stress enough how I'd rather you be safe than be fast- Alot of power means alot of responsability, the last thing we want is to have you post on here and say you had some accident.
I don't mean to bring down the thread- thats just my 2 cents, lol.
