I've heard that if you remove your smog, the cats get clogged up. Anyone have any input on this? I'm installing my heads here pretty soon and was going to remove the pump, but want to make sure nothing is going to be hurt. TIA.

no smog, no cats! get an o/r pipe. cheap, and it works, or just poke the cats out. dont worry about how many lines there are, just put a golf tee in the ones that go into the smog pump, or whatever is nice and snug.

I would like to go no cats, but since I already have an h-pipe with them I don't want to gut them especially since there are emissions where I live. Does what you say mean that it won't hurt the cats to pull the smog? And if I pulled the pump, do you think I could still pass emissions?

i guess it wont hurt the cats. know some people whove taken the pump off with the cats on, and i havent heard that it did any damage. but, dont take my word for it. id get someone who has actually done it. good luck.
