car wont even try to crank
 

I just got my new 331 put in the engine bay, and everything hooked back up. i got a new starter from summit, and now when i try and turn the key, i just here a clicking noise and it doesnt try to crank. Where is my starter relay on the 94 mustangs? i cant find it!

on the 94-95s the seninoid is in the starter.

Sounds like you gots a weak or dead battery. Try charging it overnight, or you could even probably try jumping it. Is your battery more than a year or two old? Is it a large enough battery? Sounds like the most probably culprit

Ditto on the dead battery. If you get the clicking usually the battery just doesn't have enough of a charge to fire it over. Jump start it and see if you can drive around for ~20-30 minutes to build up a charge.

Also...check your connections on the battery, make sure there clean and tight, i had mine do the same thing...popped to hood tightened the wired and away i went!...Later cleaned the terminals....good luck!

yeah the battery is a brand new optima battery. maybe i just have the wires on the wrong terminals. i bought the starter out of summit the part number is FMS-M-11000-A50. If someone could check that out for me and let me know what i got i would really appretiate it. thanks for the help so far. keep it coming!! I wanna here this thing run this weekend

Well i found my own problem..I bought a starter that is for an automatic..im so pissed right now
