First Time Doing Body Work

RE: First Time Doing Body Work
All I have to say is that body work, even with how to articles is not something you can just jump into and be a pro at, especially if you've never done it before and you want a show quality finish with a black paint job. Bodywork under a black paint job has to be perfection or it won't look so hot when that expensive paint job is all finished. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for tackling new things, but if you want a show quality finish I'd at least try to find someone to help you that has experience or buy a very detailed book with in depth explanantions on the things you want to do. Be prepared to do the same spot more than once to get it precisely the way you want it and make sure you have the right tools and a fair amount of patinece.

JD >> I totally understand what you are saying about if I want a show finish than to do it myself but I had my heart on tackling this task on my own (with the help of a friend) and I am also going to see if an old friend (works at a goooood body shop) can help me out.
Ben>> I only have $25 dollars because I just spend a couple hundred on the doors and quarter windows and Valentines day really took a hit on my pockets along w/ me a my gf's 3ys Anniversary.
I appreciate all of the help but I think that I'm going to just shoot for the stars and go for it. If anyone has any more advice I would really appreciate it. BTW, Im going to pick up etching primer and dyna fill right now Thanks fellas!

Also, let me correct myself. It does not have to be "show quality" like right off the assembly line but it has to be good. Theres no point of laying down nice *** paint on a crapped body. I think I will be happy with my work. Im taking my time and doing the best that I can. I sanded it down last night and just did some bondo work to see how it would come out (not to keep; just to practice) and I did a pretty good job. Soooo I guess we will just have to wait and see!
