My new 5.0

My new 5.0
I am in the process of buying a '92 hatchback GT 5 speed with 37,000. I am buying it from the original owner who is 68 and drove it once a week since it was new. This car is perfect. My question is: What should I expect to go wrong with this car as I drive it? Mass airflow sensor, fuel pump, transmission, rear wheel seal, and on and on? The reason I ask is because I would buy replacment parts for any known problems to "keep in stock". I hate paying for things that I can fix myself. Thanks for any help!

Depends on how it was maintained. My 92 has been one of the best cars I've ever owned. Besides general maintenence, it has needed nothing. Well, other than mods!!! LOL
Good luck with her.

RE: My new 5.0
I'm sorry, I haven't taken any pictures of it...yet. Just picked it up on Saturday. What a car! I wish I would have bought one when they were new, but this one is close. I paid $7500 for it! I searched around on this site for problems with the car and it seems like they are few and far between. Thanks for all of your help. I'll get some pictures on here. By the way, I have an apointment on thursday for some exhaust work so I (and the neighbors) can here it when it's running!

RE: My new 5.0
I bought a low mile '89 LX 5.0 back in 1998
It had never been owned by a teenager and was in excellent condition.
In the 8 or so years I've had it, I've had to repair the following........
New water pump
Shocks and struts ( originals were shot after 15 yrs! )
Tires.
Thats it! these cars just run and run and run.
just have to replace the usual bull like
belts, hoses, water pumps, altrnt, ect.......
