Default Header coatings poll

I'm trying to make up my mind what type of headers to choose for our project, I'm stuck between shorties and equal length shorties but what about coatings and materials ?? I have ceramic longtubes on my driver and I love them but what do you like best on a 5.0 ? Let me know.

unequal, easier to install, equals arent worth the burnt plug wires and the pain for install

If you go w/ shorties, get FRPP. They're stainless and ceramic coated [Jet-Hot]. Summit has them for $310. Best of both worlds, and the cheapest as far as stainless ceramic headers go.

I've got ceramic long tubes on my 86 power ram, stuff gets a scratch and flakes off, discolors easy, etc. Of course, they're caked with mud half the time which doesn't help. I'd go with stainless.

If you know what your doing go with chrome, if you heat them up just right and let them cool down and tighten them back up they will turn a little but not as much as if you dont know what your doing. id go with shorty equal length, they sound better little harder to install but like some people say its all in what you want, shorty equal gives you 1-2 more hp over unequal shorties but they sound alot better. if your doing it for hp gain just keep u/e shorties if your doing it for sound go with equal shorties. i dont get why your shocks would rust faster IMO.

My equal length shorties were not hard to install at all. Sure you have to jack up the engine a bit, but it's only 1 extra bolt on each side and a little raising of the engine. Come to think of it, I didn't even jack the engine up for my install. I just loosened the motor mounts and pushed the engine to the opposite side and they slid right in. It probably only adds about a half an hour to the project. And why does everyone always complain about burnt plug wires and difficult plug changes with equal lengths? I have no trouble getting to any of my plugs and with multi-angle wires you should never have to worry about a burnt one. I guess different companies designs are one cause and just whatever wires people are running, but if you are going equal length shorties, it's BBK all the way. I love mine. I have the polished ceramic cuz the stainless ones I had on there rusted out like a **** and the chrome ones will do the same eventually. If you are careful with the ceramic it should last you a long time. Ok I'm done. Sorry for the rant.
