Alright. My buddy and I finished installing my TFS top-end kit, and the darn thing is not right. Timing is at 12BTDC, all vacuum lines are plugged in,and all sensors, minus egr and smog, are plugged in. Also, my belt is a little long, as it slips quite a bit. My fuel pressure gauge doesn't register any fuel pressure, and the FPR is getting good vacuum. I've tried increasing the FP 3 times, yet it still made no difference on the gauge. The engine sounds great when we hold the throttle down, but it dies way to fast for it to be a simple vacuum problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. We had to stop for the day because all the part stores are closed and we can't get a shorter belt, and didn't want to break this one. TIA,

We did the smog elimination, and AC delete, if that helps.

Hmm, sounds like a fuel problem to me, or perhaps the ignition, but if you cant get a FP reading, that tells you that something is not right. Keep checking all lines, as the fragile plastic vacuum lines are VERY easy to break without knowing it. Make sure there are no leaks around the base of the intake's and be sure that your dist. is in the correct place. The guess and check method must come into play at this point, or you can always take it to an auto elec. place and have them run codes...

Good luck! I had major fuel issues when I put my new heads and cam in, but the FPR & 255lph pump helped it out...

I have a brand new BBK 190lph fuel [pump, and you can hear it prime up with the key on position. As for vacuum, it is nearly impossible to even think because the belt makes so much noise.

check the fuel pump cut oof switch and the fuel pump relay. can you here the pump running?

Is that an issue if the car actually runs, but won't idle? Just takes a lot of gas to keep going.

I had to crank my idle up after the heads/cam/intake and all that jazz went on, I think it's at about 900rpm now. Otherwise it'd cycle a few times and then die. What cam are you running again? Any EEC-IV reprograming going on at all? May need that.

I put the trickflow street heat kit on. It has the TFS stage 1 cam. We can hear the fuel pump power up, and it will run fairly smooth if your on the throttle at about 1500 rpm or better. WOuld it be possible for the fuel filter to be clogged?

How old is the fuel filter? Did you run it really low on fuel to swap the pump? When you fire it up if you don't hold the gas down does it struggle to stay running, or does it just go **** up? What's your idle set at? You running 24lb injectors and a calibrated maf? Will it stay running if you can get it warmed up?
