Default ticking sound

alright, well my car has decided it needs to make a new noise this week. its not ticking, tick, tick, tick.... right under the drivers seat. it seems to be from the exhause, could this be because of a leak?

While it's runnin or after it's off. Yes, it could be the exhaust. That's why I asked what I asked.

hum, should of said when. it ticks on idle, and on acceleration. but, when going at a constant speed (not accelerating) it seems to be gone.

Have you listened around under the hood while it's at idle to try to determine the location. Or is that how you know it's under the seat area?

You know once i heard a ticking sound that i thought was the exhaust. I found out it was the fingers on my clutch pressure plate. same symptoms as your stang.
