Ford Idle Air Adjuster Kit? why?

Ford Idle Air Adjuster Kit? why?
my car has this kit installed on it but i am unsure what purpose it serves; for adjusting idle only? my 89 is not idling well when it is cold and sometimes when it is hot, never has. checked codes, said tp sensor out of range and air charge sensor faulty. replaced both, adjusted tp to .98. still have poor idle. cannot find any vacuum leaks. i am second owner, previous owner says it is because of the e303 cam but i don't think a cam will make it not idle when it is cold. my only guess is the air bypass valve but i don't want to play with that until i fully understand how the idle air adjuster kit works and why it is there. thank you to anyone who can help!

RE: Ford Idle Air Adjuster Kit? why?
The Idle adjuster kit? I thought all you had to do is drill a 1/4 hole in the throttle plate. Now you'll have to clarify, are you complaining about the idle? Is it searching or rolling from 2200rpm and 1000? That kit should cure a rolling idle problem. Or is your problem idle quality. A rough idle with an E-cam sounds normal to me..... good too!! If Your expecting silky smooth stock idle charcacteristics from an "E" cam you may be expecting too much.
