It's my guess that the thing is only right if you are at sea level anyway. All the calualator type things always are.
If you ARE NOT at sea level, use your ET at the known elevation and then get the NHRA correction factors off of NHRA.com and correct yourself to sea level in ET and then try it........

Default RE: Hp calculator

seemed a bit high for me.

it said :

Your engine is making approximately 290.83 HP at the wheels
and about 343.18 HP at the flywheel.

bone stock 5.0, long tubes and 2 1/2" catback, 4.10's , and dry 80 shot.

really shouldn't be any more than about 325 flywheel. but like like stated b4...lots of variables.

It cool but it does seem a little high....i have never been dynoed but i am assuming that i weigh 3300 with me in it, and my best time was 12.01 and its say 334 at wheels. I think this year i will be quicker because i will have a k-member and a five speed trans, last year i had the ****ty srod 4-speed junk

It said my 650 horse crate 514 is making 330. I think it's a touch off. The calculator doesn't take in variables like driver skill, gearing, tires, etc.

This is the first calculator that I have seen that uses ET, most use MPH which is a much better/more accurite way to figure HP. ET is too dependant on launch/driver, whereas MPH is pretty consistant and has always been a reflection of how hp a car is making. It was low for me. It said 326 rwhp when I made 352 (using my old time/dyno numbers). It;s tough to coampre numbers this way because of day to day weather changes and what not.

i dont think its right cause i put in a 3000 pund car and an et of 13.5 and it came out to about 214 rwhp which is only like 255-260 at crank..... but i guess thats easy with a sper good driver and good tires and suspension
