Does anyone know what degree of timing i should set to for the e303 cam?

My friend has a 1991 5.0 with an e303 cam, cobra upper and lower intake, CAI (fenderwell), shorty headers, offroad x-pipe, flowmaster 40 series exhaust. We having been messing around with his timing for a while now and we cant seem to get it right. The stock timing is 10 degrees, but you cant set the timing to 10 degrees with an e303 cam. Also if you guys could, if you give me a timing degree, im going to time with the timing chip out. Alright guys please help this is a big thing, we need to be at the track tomorrow night so any help before the end of the night would help. If you need anymore information i havent given, let me know!

what is the engine doing that you are trying to fix

it runs a little rough, and its sluggish. Timing is kinda high right now........

makre sure that you have the spark plug wires in the right places and they all are connected fully. Its an easy mistake. I have a E cam and i have my timing at 12 degree and the idle is smooth
