It has to be more than that. The 289 in my 64 1/2 is a dyno proven 300 horse motor. It doesn't move out like that Fox does. It's not quite as violent as the 650 horse crate in my 67 either. I'm not up to speed on how to make power with EFI. That 5.0 is somewhere between 300 and 650 horse. It's not close to 650 though, but it's definetely more than 300. Of course weight and gearing affect driveability too. The Fox has something like 4.30 gears in it. A hot car, but now what I'm after.

an EFI 347 with trickflow heads and cam probably puts close to 400 to the wheels.

ORIGINAL: BaldGeorge

I'm in Wichita Falls TX. I went back and looked at the car again. Drove it this time. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph thats a built motor. I put it in first, gave it a little gas, and eased out the clutch. Back end slid around and I shoved the clutch back in. To drive this car all you have to do is let the clutch out. Oh, and unless you're on a hill start out in second. Don't give it any throttle at all. Once it starts rolling then you can push the foot feed. With that much power it's not going to be a DD. I'm pretty sure that in wet weather it would be damn near uncontrollable. Car corners like a dream though, and theres always power. I lowballed him, offered $8,000 cash. He told me he wasn't interested. Can anybody give me an idea of how much power that motor is making? Ballpark?
LOL! He is asking 15 and you offered him 8. Dp you think you insulted him?

Well ya'll did say the car was worth $9500 tops. If I could have bought it for between $8,000 and $9,500 I'd have taken it. By starting with 8 I thought he might haggle. He didn't. His loss. How many people have $15,800 cash laying around? How many banks will finance a $15,800 loan for a 20 year old car? I'll keep on looking. I could believe 400. Fox's are pretty light to begin with and with the rear seat delete, all the aluminum under the hood, and the lack of any stereo equipment in the trunk 400 horse could move the car like that.
