Default newbie questions

ill prolly get all razed for this post but, i searched and didnt really find an answer

i have a 94 5.0 and im looking to get a little more from it here and there as i can afford it

as of now i have a flowmaster 40 series catback, h-pipe with no cats, fenderwell intake, and UDP's
the headers will be added before it hits the road this year

wondering if i should go with equal length headers or just the normie shorties and what is the difference in performance between the two

or should i sell the h-pipe and get long tube headers and a new h-pipe?
and how would that be compared to the shorties

also what are some engine upgrades that are semi affordable and that can be done in the driveway with basic knowledge and tools

the best thing you can do for your car, in terms of engine performance, would be a new set of heads. if i was you, i would hold off on the exhaust, as with that your gains will be slight. after you put some hi flow heads on there, all other supporting mods will have a much better effect on the car. plus then you will have the satisfaction that your 5.0 is genuinely faster than a stock engine, or a stock engine with exhaust work done. after the heads id look at gears, then chassis\suspension improvements.

If you plan on putting a blower or nitro on go with long tubes, but watch
out for street legal issues.
I dont think there is much difference in shorties or equal length unless your counting
tenths down at the strip.

As said before heads are the first step in beefing up the engine.

Putting 4.1 gears in is an easy way to make her accelerate faster
for not much money.

use shorties headers, but for now i would leave your stock headers on because that will keep your low end torque up. untill you get heads, cam and intake i would wate to do headers.

around 1000-1400 for a good set of new ones, depending on what brand you go with. used, they are a bit cheaper, but personally, i dont really trust many used auto parts that i plan on getting a good use out of

You should do both at the same time...get some shocks/struts that are valved for the new springs if you want to get the best performance/handling out of them. Also, replace your spring isolators w/ some new poly ones....

What are your plans for the car? Daily driver? Drag? What setup you should go w/ depends on your desired outcome.
