Default Fuel Pump

I am needing to replace my fuel pump...its for an 87' i was wondering if the in tank pump is better than an in-line? Or a combination of in-tank with a smaller lph in-line pump? what do you think?

i say replace the intank pump and sock with a OEM one and than do a filter of some sort than a higher pressure in line pump, the reason your want one of higher volume is so that the in tank one does not fight the in line one causing a jam and foaming fuel, which is no good. and than upgrade youre FPR on your fuel rail. should be good to go. but mainly make sure you have a filter between the tank and the in line pump or else the pump will get eaten quick.

unless you are going to be making a lot of hp then just stay with the in-tank they are much easier to install.

i wouldn't buy a oem one in like 85 said, i'd put in a high flow one not the ***** 88 lph stock one. as long as you have a afpr you'll be fine.
