Default Trying to become more of do it yourselfer

I have a 86 gt ragtop and now that the snow is starting to melt I need to get my ride out. At the end of last year I was leaking coolant on a regular basis. Not all the time just some of the time. What should I check first.

I know this is probably a stupid question but I've always paid for other people to do my auto work and know I want to start working on it myself.

Thanks

just start looking around your cooling system. check your hoses thermastat, housing, radiator etc. after that get rid of the Heads on that thing 86 was a bad year for Heads.

86's were worse then the other years, ford tried some new head design that failed.

when the car leaks antifreeze does it leave a puddle under the car if so check around the area on the puddle. You should be able to find the problem quicker that way
