the cobra intake comes with a 65mm TB

the stock 5.0 intake comes with a 60mm TB, 70mm TB would be overkill for your motor unless like already said, you got different heads/cam.

ORIGINAL: r.barn

The big deal on the cobra/gt-40 intake manifold is the lower manifold.

Supposed to have MUCH better flow distribution to each individual cylinder.

You wont see a huge gain till you get new cylinder heads
but it will make those new heads scream when you do replace them.
what heads would be the best to go with after this set-up?
-what intake runner size?
-combustion camber size?
-what exhaust side size?

nice looking intake ) My buddy has that intake and saw a pretty big gain going from a 65mm TB to a 70mm TB on the dyno. I'm pretty sure he had stock heads and cam at the time too, that intake is ported for a 70mm TB. I'll see if I can get some more details from him.

well according to info i recieved on this site, Cobras came with 65mm TBs. He started with a 60 or 62mm TB and went to the 65, and then to the 70. I can tell u right now he had a 75mm MAF. More to come...

for the replicated kit from ford racing it costs $425.00 & and $535.00 for the polished intakes, so thats pretty good
