all i know is a 89 is a TBI and its a 305ci and rated 210@flywheel. unless it is a RS which has a 350 tune port in it. but if it is a stock maro with a 305 and auto you should take him, the 700r trans in the maro is a lot better than your AOD so do the 1-d-1 trick to crank second out so you know you will take him. have fun and let them chevy boys know only lil boys wear bo ties

i used to have a 1989 RS camaro with a 305 its a turd and its HEAVY HEAVY youll smoke em no question about it, just let him talk his sh*t and just smile and nod, let your car do the talking for you. Not much he can say once you beat him, unless hes the type of guy that makes up excuses (oh i missed 3rd gear, i spun 1st and 2nd, etc etc) whatever excuses he makes just let him know your car is faster and you are the better driver. :-)

yea.... but hes not talkin s**t.... everyone else n the school is.....so ill smoke him and the other stang at our school.... a 95 gt 5 speed with flowmasters and ugly tail lights that look like they belong on a honda.......

dude chill out a lil, you are in school everyone in school talks so much s**t. like i said do the 1-d-1 thing and you will take him, if you do it from a dig hold the brake and gas to preload the suspension. make him eat your pipes. FORD= First On Race Day get it.

I agree with everyone else here if its the 305 its a floater for sure.

BTW my car with the few mods it has took a Dodge 1500 W/Hemi LOL
It was a guy i work with too. Pissed him off good

I actually have one of these cars, RS never came with the 5.7 tune port injected motor. I think only tbi v8 and 3.1s or 2.8s I don't remember. Either way, its slow.. Even if it has the tune port injected motor, you'll prolly still beat him if you know how to drive. I like those camaros and f-birds of the year, I actually have 7 of em uncluding a few parts cars. But you SHOULD beat him...

the camaro has a better tranny
the 305TPI isnt as slow as some people think it is, i almost bought an 85 iroc-z.. first year of the TPI and the engines was rated 200+hp and 250+tq with a transgo 700-4r shift kit. the car was quick...
