Default Trickflow kit installed...Not running well

I just finshed installing the street heat kit. I have 70mm TB C&L 73mm mass air and 24# inj. I also have BBK shorties with off road H, no cats and new O2's. I took it out for a drive and it seems like its missing, almost feels like a crossed up plug wire but not quite that bad. I have the FP set at 39 vaccum off, timing at 18*. It is idling fairly well at about 900 rpm. Any ideas about the miss. I bought the mass air from a guy on ebay who said it was cal for 24# inj but there is no marking on the tube. I called C&L and they said t could have worn off. Would this cause the problem if it is not calibrated for 24# inj?Any other suggestions?

if it idles good I would think that the mass air is OK I would check the plugs again did you drop one maybe cracked one on install also check you firing order again check for vac. leak.also check to make sure the plug wires are pushed on all the way on the plug I have seen this cause a miss a lot.

The idle seems to hunt a little then calms down. I was reading that the C&L maf do not work well on fenderwell CAI.s I am going to clock the MAF to about 3 and see if it helps. I did have the plugs gapped at .44 and pulled them and re gapped at .54. It seemed to help quite a bit. The plugs were a little black, so it is definitely running rich.

i would first try changing to your timing to around 10-14 degrees. 18 is a lot, that could be part of the reason why it's missing. are you at least running 93 octane in it?

I will drop it down to about 14*. I am running 92 octane and I have seen plenty of guys running 18-20* timing with Twisted Wedge heads. I did clock the MAFover to about 3 o'clock and drove it. It still feels like it is only running on 7 cylinders. I do not know what to check now. I checked firing order and plugs. Idle will hunt then settles down but that could be from all the new mods. I have a new MSD cap, rotor, wires. Msd coil.

If its running rich maybe you need to bump your fuel pressure down a little bit. Running to rich will make your car feel like its running on 7 cylinder.
