heyy i was woundering if anyone knows the correct speaker size for an 87 mustang gt i need to know the size for the door speakers and the little speakers on top of the dash twards both ends of the dash ??

there is no speakers in the doors, just holes for them, and the ones in the dash are just tweeters

my 89 took 6 1/2s in the doors with little problem, i put 3 1/2s in the dash. Check crutchfield.com to be sure, they will tell you specifically which ones go in your car

Actually your door speakers were 5 1/4" but you can put 6 1/2" speakers in the there as long as their mounting depth does not exceed 2 1/4" or 2 3/8" deep I believe. Your dask speakers are 3 1/2". Your rear speakers are 5x7/6x8 and mount directly on the rear grill. You could put 6x9 speakers back there but you need atleast 2 special mounting brackets per speaker with mounting clips for it too work properly. You want too make sure though that if the 6x9's are 2,3,or 4 way etc.., that they can fit without them pushing up against the grill!
