dudes.....ok.... this guy then, the one of not using the clutch must be god then cause I SAW HIM do this at 6000 rpm and not a single peep from the tranny. HOW DOES HE DO THAT!!!!!! btw when i powershifted the way u guys said at 4000 rpm, my car felt alot faster than if i had shifted normally at 6000 rpm. does that sound correct.
what does he drive??? depending on the trany 6000 grand may be a good clutchless shift point... by good i dont mean a good idea i mean they mite be willing to do it... still goin to **** **** up sooner or later

about hte powershifting id say u shift a lil slow... no offense i do it to so at 6000 u may be reving out the engine try in at like 5000 5600 and then 5800 see if there is a difference. idea say u shouldnt need to take it past 5500 if you mostly stock newayz

clutchless shifting was something I used todo, I got it nailed down pretty good actually, I used to powershift but I would let my foot off the accelerator about 1/4 away from WOT.

last time I used that T-5 it was still running like a champ

First off, powershifting will not grenade a transmission unless you are unlucky. I have two stock WC T5s sitting in cars right now - both have gone mid 12s - without issue for 4+ years. I agree that over time you will wear it out faster, and will go through clutches more frequently. However, powershifting should only be done on a track. Doing on the street is just plain stupid and unnecessary.

As for the 4K powershift vs. the 6K normal shift:
If you have a stock (or close to) 5.0, running it out to 6K is just a waste, the car falls on its face above 5K. In either event, I bet the powershift "feels" faster simply because it is a more aggressive way to drive a car.

Not to go off topic, but with the mods I have in my sig my car still feels to pull good all the way up to 6 grand, I have a decent sized cam in though, and full intake. Stock heads though. 3.73s. That sound right that it's stull pullin that far?

I'm not much of a fan on shifting without the clutch... That was a thing of the past, when they put big *** rear ends and trannys in those big *** cars... I usually clutch every gear and when i shift i let about 1/4 way out of the throttle... Here's a little video of me hell raising... Fast enough shifting for me... Sounds like the dash is about to come out... haha
