well if u look at it year for year my 88 fox(h-pipe and flows) beats my buddies 88 iroc-z, 350tpi like its its job... his mods are shift kit, 3.73s(stock or no? i wouldnt know), FULL exhaust and some other small stuff.
id get the fox, there alot easier to work on then a z28, they beat the 3rd gen z28s, ive hung with an LT1, but lost, with a few more cheap mods i could be there. and obviously our 19yr old 225hp car isnt as fast as an ls1... but i bet i can make it just as fast for = or less money....

total-7000 for a 300+/- whp lighter then an ls1 foxbody...
i dont see the need to think about it, lol
not to mention our 302 kept up w. chevy's 350 when these were new(and in my case beats them)

port injected, small shot most likly.i may get an sct chip and have one tune set for a diff pully, so i can up the boost if wanted. but im not sure as of now

you guys would actually be surprised about this...i have a buddy who has a 97 v6 camaro, with a 6 speed i think...he stomps my car as soon as he puts it in 3rd, and i've literally seen him stay with z28s...his brother has a foxbody with 3.73s, catback, and shortshifter...half the time he'll take that foxbody....now idk if this is true but he got that car cuz he says its the N/A version of the grand national. same motor just no turbos.
i'd still prefer a fox, after all i do own one,cuz they look bad ***, and camaro's look like a cardboard cutouts of wat a car should be...

are you sure its a V6 cause didnt think they put 6 speeds in V6 camaros cause i always thought those had 5 speeds . and if he can stomp all over that fox well who ever the hell is driving that stang needs to get out of it and let someone else dirve it that knows what they doing . cause if that camaro is stock that fox should leave him . but being 6 speed i dont know bout all that look under that hood 1 more time .

yea i dont know much about it, it could be a 5speed...im not like trying to start an arguement or anything im just saying wat i know. its pretty much stock, he has the thing f*ckin slammed tho, he haslike no clearance. butboth these guys are pretty good drivers...they've come from a car family. i have an auto fox with shorties and mufflers...i thought he was full of it until i had to hand him 50 bucks because he took me by 4 lenths, swear to god, and he told me when he use to race in philly, he'd beat 5.0s with minor bolt ons and once he told them it was a v6 it was over lol.
like i said, im not trying to say anyones wrong or right, if chevy is better than ford,i was just commenting. I LOVE MY FOX!

The only point that I will make is... if Chevy is so great, then why did they have to put a 350 in their Camaro to get it to keep up with a 302 Mustang? It gets even worse when you start talking about the +/- 97 cobras... the 350 power Z28's couldn't keep up with a 281 powered Mustang.

he took you by 4 lengths and you say its pretty much stock . bull**** i dont beleive it . he has something done to it that you dont know bout or something like maybe a bottle or something . i have drivin few newer camaros and firebirds with V6 's and there quick for what it is but a 5.0 should stomp all over one . if im thinking right when you asked or said something bout do they have same motor as grand national nooo . cause think camaros and firebirds have 3.1 or maybe 3.4 i dont know cant remember but pretty sure they dont have 3.8 's in them .

i know this is way off subject... but a kid i went to school with a few years ago had a RS camaro. i think it was a 95 or something.. but yeah.. i had a 5.0HO t-bird back then with a cold air intake, flow cat back, and bumped timing and i could beat him by 1.5-2 car length's every time... and on a side note.. i beat a 305 TPI firebird auto car by7-8 car lengths with my stang and all it had was a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust. no bumped timming or anything... so yeah.. the 5.0's may not be as fast asthe ls1 or lt1 cars... but they are so much eaiser to work on.. parts are so much cheaper.. and you can make a fox run 12's with 225rwhp.. lets see a camaro do that. Just my $.02
