Camaro Owner tryna to convert to 5.0
ok im really thinkin about tradin my 97 camaro RS,, 3.8L V6 for a 1993 GT 5.0... People on the camaro forums are sayin its a dumb move and a 5.0 isnt that much faster than my car and cant run with Z28's, i just thought id see wat u mustang fanatics had to say about that....

Lol, my car will easily destroy a 3.8L Camaro...I have. All I have done is headers, h pipe and flows. I have a few friends with light mods that run right beside and past Z28s.

What year z28? My brother has a 95 trans am, and it is pretty quick. I can beat it, but my car has quite a bit of mods. Im pretty sure that 9 times outta 10 an f-bod will beat a fox stock vs. stock, even a lightly modded fox. They have almost 50 extra cubes, and something like 10.5:1 C/R. I would still choose the 5.0 over an f-bod any day though. foxbody>f-body

The thing we like about 5.0's is they are so easy to work on and mod.
slap some boost on a 5.0 and you're hanging with the big boys.
Litely modded 5.0's will hang with LT1's
Heavy modded 5.0's will beat stock LS1's

well if u look at it year for year my 88 fox(h-pipe and flows) beats my buddies 88 iroc-z, 350tpi like its its job... his mods are shift kit, 3.73s(stock or no? i wouldnt know), FULL exhaust and some other small stuff.
id get the fox, there alot easier to work on then a z28, they beat the 3rd gen z28s, ive hung with an LT1, but lost, with a few more cheap mods i could be there. and obviously our 19yr old 225hp car isnt as fast as an ls1... but i bet i can make it just as fast for = or less money....

suporting mods/misc-650
total-7000 for a 300+/- whp lighter then an ls1 foxbody...
i dont see the need to think about it, lol
not to mention our 302 kept up w. chevy's 350 when these were new(and in my case beats them)
