I have been reading these forums for a while and just got myself a mustang yesterday
thought i would post some pics and see what everyone thinks


its a 87 with some extras, has mac shorties-ceramic, 21/2" catback (dynomax) port and polished heads, new tranny, alt, GT40 intake, underdrive pulleys and 3:55 gears

yea car looks mint but clean motor and buy parts that you need first to make the car look really good becasue nothing is better thana clean mustang

i forgot to write it has a E 303 cam in it already lol and mass air conversion
I know the engine and car are filthy but the carhas been in storage for the past 7 years and needs a really good bath
but i just got it yesterday gimme time lol

i think its a pretty shweet car, how much did ya get it for, i have no room to comment on that engine, i can only imagine what mine looks like, and besides, not many people can get a car that already has some mods on it, makes a nice jumping point

I got it for a pretty good price. Obviously there is some work that needs to be done to it but that's part of the reason I bought this one.

yea nice set up, what is that intake, one of those elderbrock performers or something, ive seen ones like that

awesome color blue, (not a gt person myself...)

what do ppl suggest to clean the engine bay and stuff, just plain degreaser and elbow grease? my mustang could use a good cleaning and the jeep i just brought has oil and mud caked on so thick i thought it was rubber at first

any suggestions

i got some engine degreaser foam today and did that twice and scrubbed it the second time
it looks a bit better but im gonn ahave to do it again lol


the intake is a GT40 one guy on here just told me its crap and another said its ok so I have no idea lol

the gt-40 intake is $600 brand new, they make some nice plates for the top, i have one just powdercoated black, heres a pic with the coverhttp://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...cture137-1.jpg

Your intake is one of the best for a street car, great low end power, and top end. It supports up to 300-400hp, so it'll do a great job unless you go Stroker 347, or Supercharger or something.

nice color man! i was contemplating that color on mine but keeping the silver on the bottom or black w/ that color blue stripes..

but that cap and wires look like original 1987 equipment lol def give her a nice tune up soon

well got atemp permit for the car and have been driving it a bit
it is super fast I love it
but there are a few things,
the baffles in my cat broke loose so i dunno what to do either a new H pipe with cats or offroad pipe
I am not sure if u need cats and emission stuff to pass safety, since its a 87 i dont need to go for e test

the other thing i noticed in teh smog pump is gone so if i do cats I will have to get a new smog pump
but then teh car is all legit and i cant get hassled by the cops or ministry

what is the best cap, rotor and wires, plugs to get?
with my cars setup would stuff liek bigger injectors, throttle body and mass air sensor, and fuel regulator benefit my car?

ok got some work done to the car finally
needed new gas tank, installed a BBK 2.5 Hpipe with high flow cats, smog pump, got rid of the AC compressor and relocated the p/s pump, new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor
2 cans of engine degreaserso far and got a BBK CAI and some LX tails
what do you think now? it's coming along slowly

I think it looks awesome!

You did a great clean up job and love the decision to switch to LX taillights, I think it makes a huge difference. Keep up the good work!

Congrats, the engine bay looks a lot better!!! If I were you I would just pull out a couple parts (such as the radiator support brackets,) and repaint them so it looks even cleaner. Maybe some new wire looms too.

car color is awesome. looks great in the front with the cobra grill. nice job working the engine bay.

SOME THINGS I WOULD DO NEXT:
1. reroute (hide) as many wires/ wiring that u are able to inside the fenders.
2. put the battery in the hatch
3. pick up a blue radiator hose kit from ebay
4. get a black/new interior floor carpet
