Default What kind of gas milage do you get?

This is for all the 5.0 guys. What kind of gas milage (on average) do you get? What mods do you have done? Dont need to list everything, just say highly modded, slightly modded, etc, just so that we understand why your fuel consumption is where it is. Me personally, I'm getting about 13 miles to the gallon, which I dont think is right. I'm not really modded at all. Exhaust, thats about it. And regarding my gas milage, is that anormal amount, or could something be wrong? Its a 92 foxbody.

Depends on how I drive it. Ive gotten as bad as 6 mpg and as good as 30. If youre in it all the time guess what? Your mpg is going to be crappy. No matter if its stock or not.
And the 30 I got was in a mildly modded '79 5.0L @ 100mph, that was with the original SROD trans that came in it which had a .50 4th gear.
As for the 6mpg, that was in my '85 which I wouldnt call heavily modded, but its definitly warmed up quite a bit.
Ive also noticed that if I run premium, I get considerably better gas mileage. Also, if youdrive like its wet, shifting @ 2500 you WILL get WAY better mileage.
-P.
PS: Average is 10-12 though.
