What to do, what to do...

What to do, what to do...
this is going to be kind of a long post because it's kind of a big deal, so you've been warned, here goes...
today i picked up my car from impound (i wasn't sure what to expect when i went to go pick it up). turns out, the smarty pants who stole it wasn't too smart. He tore up EVERY lock on the outside of the car before giving up and just going it through the sunroof. he then proceeded to rip apart the steering column in a frantic rush to get the car started. Upon doing so he took it somewhere and took off the VIN and door jam stickers. But did so very amateurly. In the process of taking off the VIN, he just tore at the dash with probably a hammer because it just managed to mangle everything, crack the windshield, gnarl up the dash itself, and break the plastic over the gauge cluster. AMAZINGLY, they then decided to sell the car to A FAMILY. I say this because there was juice boxes and barbie dolls in the back seat when i went to go identify my car. who the hell does that?!? Every piece of stereo equipment i had put in the car WAS STILL THERE, the 400 dollar pioneer deck, the infinity speakers and subs, even my freakin Ipod was still there! So i was obviously astounded that after 4 months my car hadnt been taken apart. So now comes the point to my stupid long post.
Since the car has been gone, i've been saving money. I now have 4 grand in my hands. However i found from calling around that to restore my car to proper order again, it would cost me around 2 grand. bummer!
So here are my options:
(A)Pile 2,000 into the car i just recovered and hopefully bring it back up to its 4000 dollar value, or
(B)Buy another fox notch or hatch for around 4 grand, swap the needed parts from the recovered car to my newely purchased car. then part out the rest of the stolen car
my buddy says to go with option B, and i'm kinda leaning that way too. what do you all think?

What shape aside from what happened is the car in? Plus if you don't want the hassle of fixing everything. If it wasn't that great to begin with, I'd go for option B as well.

as far as the body goes, its in decent shape, the car has never been in an accident. all thats damaged is the dash, cluster, every door because of the locks, the cracked windshield, broken sunroof, sawed off clutch pedal, and they ripped the front bumper because of some curb or something i guess. I'm gonna post pictures tomorrow

around here you can find running gts or 5.0 lxs for 1500, theres one now that just needs a clutch with 4.10's and exhaust, if i wasn't starting my head swap today i'd buy it and fix it and sell it for 4k, even if it needs paint i'll shoot it and make it pretty
