hey, my name is rj and im new to the forum.. i am lookin to buy my first 5.0. i have always driven a 5 spd and always thought i would have one... but a local guy is sellin a 91 gt AOD that i am hopefully going to check out today. from what he told me on the phone, the car is real clean (florida car till it came to jersey about 6 mo ago), has a rebuilt motor with forged pistons and a cam, new msd ignition and wires, new ball joints, rebuilt tranny with shift kit. there is 114k on the car and less then 20k on the drivetrain. he said he also believes the rear has been done with 3.55's, he didnt open the rear since he got it, he is just guessing by the way it drives...he said it does need an A/C charge (it is r134) and will need shocks and struts soon too..his price is 4000. sound reasonable?

what i really want to know is... is the AOD with a shift kit a nice set up? can it handle nice power? i have never really driven a sports car/high power car with an auto... odd question but does it make the car seem slower? haha

lookin forward to some replies... hopefully i will be on here a good amount once i find a nice 5.0
