RE: 1987 Mustang

Explorer Intake uses the GT40 lower and the upper is a cast piece but is designed internally simular to the tubular GT40. A true GT40 is actual welded tubes so weighs less. The advantage of the Explorer Upper is it can be ported if needed and actually flows better than the Cobra intake. If you use an Explorer lower it will have to drilled and tapped for the ACT sensor when used on your 87.
You can also usually pick up an Explorer intake cheaper than either the GT40 or Cobra.
The Explorer can use up to a 70mm throttle body. You may see slight performance increase but mine didn't seam to help that much with the factory heads.
