Default new job!

well i started my new job today, and i cantbe happier. im a mechanic at a small(4bay) private shop. today was my 1st day, i dont start officially for two weeks, so i can give my other two jobs notice.

anyway, i dont have to bring my own tools, i use all of the owners, he said it was pointless to bring my own stuff when his is all there for me to use(snap on, matco, etc etc)

its 8-6 monday thru friday, guarenteed 40-50 hours a week, NO WEEKENDS.

i start at 10 an hour, and in a month or so they will see how im doing and refigure my salary.

all in all im happy about it, i put in my two weeks at the one job tn, felt great! lol

and this also means.... in 2 weeks or so, when you(bernie!) decide to try to have a small MF meet at yall's track on a saturday, ill be able to make it now

very nice man. its a great job i wish i was still doing that instead of a oil bitch. just remember to tighten the bolts on anything. if someone calls you on your phone or is there to talk to you finish that bolt and then do what ever. stopping half way isnt a good thing you will forget that you didnt finish and it will back itself out sometime. it happend to me one time and i got a load of **** for it. other than that good luck with the new job

Congrats on the new job! When I got my first mechanic (helpers) job I was 18, first 2 jobs I did where to swap out a buick 403 for a 455 in my bosses wifes Riviera (talk about the pressure of do it right or else) and then I rebuilt and installed an engine for a MGB and all that for $100/week pay starting.

Seriously. You never want to turn your hobby into a career. Ever hear the joke about the mechanics car never running or the plumbers plumbing not working?

Congrats though.
