Default lincoln 302

I know a guy selling a lincoln with the 5.0 in it for 200 bucks, that runs great. Right now i driv ea v6, and the cars painfully slow. I was considering doing a 5.0 swap, and seeing as i can get this entire car for 200, id like to go this way. I was just wondering what differences there are between the 302 in lincolns and fords. did both companies use the same ones completely, or are the engine mounts and other things different. also, anyone have a clue what else i would need to purchase to swap this into a 96 v6

you do know that ford and lincoln are the same right?

the 5.0 in that car is different then a mustang 5.0. the mustang had the high output motor that made more power then a non HO 5.0

if it is a 96 wont you have to change crossmembers since that is when they switched to the mod motors?

The cam and firing order are different on a non HO 5.0.

You will need a '94/95 crossmember.

Hopefully your state doesnt have OBD2 emissions testing because theres no way a swapped in 302 will pass the testing.

some lincolns are the HO's, im not sre if this is though

Is there anyway to make them obd compliant? im in NY...

I need a computer from a fox or a 94/95 if its a HO, i know the computer is different between the lincoln and mustangs. Ill also need a new crossmember. anything else?

is it even worth considering if its not a HO?

Its not worth doing the swap in NY. Sell the v6 and get a factory v8 car.

You would need to use all the electronics and sensors from a '96-'00 Explorer to pass inspection since its OBD-2 compliant and the '94-'95 GT isnt so you wouldnt be able to pass inspection with '94-'95 electronics.
The Explorers were the only Fords with a HO 5.0 after '95.

You can make a non HO a HO. It involves swapping the cam, intake and a few other parts.

Car was a gift, cant sell.

I might just try to find a pre96 roller though and put the 5.0 in that, or just resell it. Maybe ill find a junked 4.6 somewhere
