you should of pulled the trans too....I would wait til you can get a new convertor it will be well worth the wait....pull that convertor to see atleast if a ring is cut in the housing shaft from the seal

im not sure but i think i remeber you sayin you were keepin those stock headers. you realy should change them out while u have the engine out of the car tho if you think ur ever gunna do it.. it would bealot easier to install now as opposed to when the engine is in.

I'm keeping the headers for now, I'm on a tightish budget.

I think it's coming along great!
Not to be rude though, I think you should've waited until you could afford some new heads and cam and the headers for sure! Having the motor out of the car and on a stand is so much easier and you won't have to remove any front accessories/drain the radiator etc.. Just a heads up, it's obvious you just really wanted a 5.0. I bigtime understand the concept of your budget. I went way over purchasing new tools for my HCI but I don't regret it!
