Default Dyno question...going next week

I am going to the dyno next week friday, it will be my first time. I am going to just do a couple horse power pulls. Here are my questions

What gear should I do my pulls in? The dyno shop I am going to is a chevy place, not sure if they know much about the T5.

The dyno charges $50 for the horse power runs, and for another $25 they will tell me my A/F ratio, should I do it? And if I do, what can I do with that info without a tune?

What gear you want to be in usually depends on what info you are tryin gto obtain. If you were trying to tune your car and you were tryin gto figure out exactly when you should shift out of each gear, then you would want to do a pull in each gear. That's what I do to determine exactly what the optimal shift points are. But it sounds like you just want to know raw numbers. So you will want to make your pulls in a gear with a 1:1 ratio.

As far as A/F ratio goes... well what mods do you have? If you have any forced induction or any major mods then it's a good idea. If you just have simple bolt-ons or mods (exhaust, pulleys, CAI, etc) then it's pretty much a waste.

I think 4th is 1:1.

I am just doing horse power pulls

My mods are pretty basic, ported heads, intake, 65mm tb, 1.7 rockers. I think I don't care about the A/F ratio since I am not getting a tune, but if I did get it, what could I do with it...just know?

You can adjust fuel pressure, see if the car is running lean or not. What gear you're in reallydoesnt matter, I had some dyno time and we tried 3rd and 4th, no difference. Tire pressure will vary the reading though. If you get a couple pulls, try tweaking the timing some. You can pick up a few HP, depending on what your timing is to start.

You will use 4th gear for your pulls, it is 1:1. You can get a a/f ratio and weather it is lean or rich you can adjust it with fuel pressure.
