Default Why must the brakes lock up

well im about to put a 306 in my 89 gt and possibly a top end kit and that 350 horse will be way to much for my stock brake system, i mean the brakes lock up all the time and theyre just to bad, so do i hold off on the top end kit and get myself a complete cobra brake system or ???

Has anyone done anything diff with theyre fox bodies brakes that worked fine under alot of stress?

Well, the stock brakes basically suck. It would be best to upgrade to a cobra or baer brakes system. Obviously, they aren't very cheap options, but put it this way. It's worthless to go faster if you can't even stop the car.
