Default need advice on buying a 1994 GT

I know someone selling a 1994 mustang GT with 42k original miles.....It has flowmasters.....He wants 8k for it.....The car was painted Mystic but the original color is silver....the engine bay is still silver....Its a 5speed.....It needs a radio and drivers side airbag.....Cloth interior....cobra R rims....The paint is in pretty good condition but there is a good amount of chips and knicks....so its not mint.....the car has been sitting in a garage for 3 years....he has been trying to sell it for 8k but i think thats way to high.....the book value considering his mods and mileage and the airbags/radio that it needs....i would think its worth no more then $4500....The car also had some front end damage that was repaired....but it has a clean title....Please give me advice on if i should get this car or whats a good price to offer him...Thanks

There is no way that car is worth anywhere near 8k. At the most 4. The paint job sounds bad since the engine bay is the original color. Mods? What rims and mufflers? No CD player and they sure don't give air bags away. A wrecked car? Get him down to 3 and then your talkin!

yea the low mileage is what makes this car.....he told me the paint job costed him about 6-7k.........if i do get this car.....what type of common problems do the 1994 GT's have....its been sitting in a garage for a 2-3 years...i would like to do some preventive maintence so i dont have any problems....

the paint doesn't really help since you say so its got chips and cracks. And since it was painted mystic it won't be cheap to redo. You also said the needs a air bag replaced.

i'd say 4500 no more
