Default How slow are AODS

Ok heres what going on.. I was driving my car today and i was just remembering my 2000 Dakota R/T 5.9.. So i was at a light and i floored my car and it couldnt even peel out.. I mean if i take a right turn it can do it, but just not in a straight line.. My question would be to know if thats normal.. Because this my first mustang and i guess i just thought they were faster. So im just curious as to how other AOD mustangs perform.. This damn car makes me miss the power of my R/T.. My mods are below.. Which really isnt much.. And i have newtires but they are all weather tires.. Sorry about ranting on..

All I have right now is a CAI, U/D pulleys, Headers, O/R H-pipe, and Flowmaster Cat-back, 3.55 gears. With my AOD, even before the 3.55s, I had no problem peeling out from a dead stop.

I'm a big fan of AOD transmissions. A stock AOD trans will not hold great amounts of power. And they are notorious for burning out the OD band. But a rebuilt AOD, with a shift kit, 4.10s, and atleast a 3000 stall, will make you a very happy person.

the aod equiped cars were rated at 5hp less than the 5 speed cars but my aod equiped car was the same a turd off the line and I've driven others the problem with them is the 1st gear ratio is 2.40 vs 3.35 of 5 speed cars and the aod cars usually came with 3.00 or 3.27 gears to combat that prob best thing to do put a 3000 stall in the car and 4.10 gears and wham you'll be suprised it'll for sure roast them!!

I noticed you have a 93 cobra mass air?? what about matching injectors?? the cobra came with 24lbs injectors or has it been recalibrated for your 19 lbs injectors??? if not... could be a cause of the lack of performance??

So if you brake stand it, you still can't do a burn out? If so then something is wrong. i have 373s and if I just punch it from astop i won't peal out but i will get a little chirp. With the stock gears it sucked.

Now the cobra mass airflow.. Wouldnt that make it run bad like idling wise and all that.. Cause it runs fine.. The guy i bought it from said it was for 19lbs. But i guess i could put thesensor from my stock mass airon it and find out right..
