You can get a performance aod for between 1000 to 1500 depending on who you buy it from depending on what your aod will need rebuild kit runs about 250-300 plus labor so if your cost to rebuild is close to the price of a new one go with a new one.

looks like a good deal for what they are offering but you'd better have 4.10 gears and at least a 3000 stall convertor as it still has the stock 2.40 1st gear ratio....they make a upgraded 1st gear ratio that I believe is 2.64 or 2.84 it's one or the other I can't remember since I ditched my aod 3 years ago in favor of a t-5 conversion.
