whats best?
i have $1000 to put into my mustang gt 1990 v8 5.0,it has 185,000 miles and its automatic, but i am new to this stuff so can u guys help me out? everything is stock, one thing is my ability to do stuff with the car, due to not having any tools, but the screw driver and wrench and socket wrench... and the knowledge,.. so being able to change my oil is the first thing i did so u know where im coming from, whatssomestuff i can do to get more power/performance out of it. and if theres upgrading i am uncapable of doing myself, can i take it to a auto shop or somthing?

RE: whats best?
i'm more than positive your auto tranny is an AOD, so u should focus on it first as its crucial to performance. get the following
- shift kit (transgo or bauman) $80
- 2800-3500rpm stall/torque converter (edge or tci) $???
- tranny cooler (B&M) $50

this works great combined with rear differential gear upgrades. rear gears will accelerate u quicker. i installed mine for no cost. gear kits are about $200
get the following
- 3.73 or 4.10 rear gears
do some exhaust and cold air intake upgrades and u should be well off to start. get something like the following
- shorty equal headers
- hpipe or xpipe
- flowmaster mufflers
- bbk cold air intake
- throttle body/egr spacer upgrade
- lower springs
