I found the tapping noise in my head, my dumbass must have dropped a bolt down the lower intake, don't remember losing any bolts, maybe sabotage. Luckly it only slightly bent the valve and no head damage.Sucks it was all together and now tore down again. Had to get new head and intake gaskets.

That sucks. I've seen worse, an oil field gas compressor mechanic dropped 3 bolts from a turbo wastegate into an exhaust manifold in a Waukesha 7042(7042cid V12 natural gas engine) and by the time he told someone it was too late, they started it up. And a lot of those engines run LEEEAAAANNN to meet emissions(yes, oilfield combustion engines have emissions they must meet) and the 3 bolts rattled around and detonated inthat lean burnengine(and you can imagine the power that thing makes, so detonation=death) and it lived for about 15 seconds. Ended up being about a $150,000-$200,000 mistake, at least. The 3 bolts became "one with the piston" which was kept as an example of what not to do
