89 LX help wanted

89 LX help wanted
I picked myself up a 89 lx with a 5.0. Being only 16, strapped tight on money, I need to make this car as quick off of the line as possible without breaking the bank. I was on americanmuscle and saw 410/430 gears that caught my eye.I have a stock rear end(to my knowledge), its sluggish and embarrassing.I have headers, flowmasters and magnaflows.There is a cold air intake, but its wierd as hell and does not look correct.
For under $300, what would shoot me off the stoplights to beat xongvang and his ricer?

for off the line 4.10s or 4.30s is a good start.
is the car auto or 5spd?
remember spinning aint winning. after the gear install the car will start to spin. upgrade the upper and lower control arms. UPR makes a good upper and lower control arms kit for the money

itsan auto. ive heard its AOD, a C-4. Im the only kid in town with an american made car that races. What does my rearend have for gears now? Is the 8.8 basically a 9"? Or would it be worth my time to install my Maverick rearend since im already in the pumpkin?

no its just a 8.8,
you either have 2.73s or 3.27s stock. 9inches are overrated to a point. You can make the 8.8 stronger then most of us will ever need.
after the gear install i would get a higher stall, trans cooler, shift kit, suspension, and tires. that sucker should leave hard as hell then
