Seat belts
I have an 89 LX hatch and my seat belts retract very very poorly if at all. Im sure its a common problem that and the cars old. But I was wondering it anyone knew where to buy front seat belt assemblys I checked everywhere, also didn't see any on late model resto just ones for 94+ models. If I can't find any I may just trash the existing ones and invest in a set of 3-point harness'sand racing seats. Thanks in advance to anyone with some info.

RE: Seat belts
get yourself a t-50 torx socket, take out some of the interior. at least enough to get the seatbelt out.
pull your belt. there is a flimsy cover over the belt. you should see a rubber sleeve over one of the turning parts where the belt runs, when you pull on it.
does that kinda make sense? take a screw driver and as you are pulling the belt out or letting it in, use your screwdriver to slide that rubber sleeve into the center, so it doesn't catch on the edge and rub, causing it not to retract smoothly. then grease that sleeve up real good. it might get on the belt a bit, but hey. cheap fix.
mine was doing that too so i just took it out and messed with it until i figured that out. it worked for me. the spring is old so of course it doesn't retract like a new one would, but it's much better.
if something doesn't make sense, just let me know. i'll try to give more details
