supplies alone cost about 700. my car has a dent in the door and near the fuel door. plus a little patch on the bumper needs to be fixed. i also need to get the hood and trunk stripped to the bar metal cause the clear is pealing. if you try to just blend it it wil show through eventually or even peal again. i have gotten a bunch of prices. one jerkoff told me 6k but my other 5 quotes were between 1,800 and 2,500. this isn't changing the color so the jams won't be painted.

This thread might be too old, but I have just joined this forum. I feel it all depends what your expectations are for the paint job. Are you keeping the car or is going up for sale. I have restored a 65 CV. Granted, I was learning (PPG Products) and I had about a $1000 in supplies. The surfacer-primerr was blocked sanded, than base coat/clear coat. The clear coat was sanded to remove orange peel and buffed. For this kind of job I think you will be looking at 5 grand.

If your looking for a decent looking paint job that will look good for a few years, it can be done for way less than a grand. If you want a super nice paint job that is going to be showroom quality, it's nothing to spend 3k on one.

They have kits on ebay where you can buy the urethane 1gal of base/1gal of clear and 1 gal of primer(high fill), have it shipped to your door all for under 400 bucks. It comes with all the hardners and reducers.
