thinking about gutting it + new track times
went to the track tonight but with a slightly different setup than the first time i went.
before:
removed weight: passenger seat, rear seat, hatch carpet
tires: 235/60/15 coopers on weld rims
temp: 90+ degrees
1) 14.60 @ 95.07 '60: 2.16
2) 15.30 @ 96.10 '60: 2.52
tonight:
removed weight: rear seat
tires: 225/55/16 yoko avids on pony rims
temp: 72 degrees
1) 14.86 @ 93.82 '60: 2.26
2) 14.99 @ 93.67 '60: 2.33
3) 14.94 @ 94.31 '60: 2.39 (on this pass i unplugged the vaccum to the fuel regulator, and left it in drive)
by the way on the first pass i beat an 07 GT by maybe a hair but winning is winning he thought my car had low miles hahahahh
my launching seems to progressively get worse. flooring it from idle seems to be the best way for me. i wasnt expecting to break my 14.6 pass tonight but figured i could maybe match it seeing how i know the car by now, and it was alot cooler. not really sure what to do but i need to break the mid 14's before winter. i WILL be buying a winter beater but for now the stang is my daily driver and it needs a re-inspection this month for safety only (no emissions).
im thinking i should get the sticker and completely gut it from the front seats back. i already have the backseats removed but the carpet and sound proofing crap is still there along with the interior panels.

RE: thinking about gutting it + new track times
on the last pass i raced a 454 ss. he was a nice guy and told me he traded his notchback for the truck but regrets it.
he ran 16.5 and with 100 shot he does 15's lol
what a turd
