I always thought that they were the same thingbut i have found that the 89 GT front bumper comes with fog lights (i like that bumper better) whereas the LX has a bumper that looks worse IMO. If i was to buy an LX would the GT bumper fit, and how much would paint be. Kinda weird question i know haha. Thanks guys

lx and gt is a differance of $100 on your car insurance bill and a sleek body kit.

TheGT front would fit but you would also need the fender extensions with the fake scoops to make it look right as far as the nose goes. Without the rest of the skirting it would look kinda funky. If it was meI would go with a full GT ground effects ormaybe the Saleen sides with the 93 cobra rear valance the GT rear actaully creates drag.

the gt bumper will fit an lx, but to make it look right you will need a full kit, not just the nose

also i think the size of the indents around the bumpers and moldings are different for gt and lx

Thats so retarted why does the GT cost more on insurance, regardless of the engine inside??

the basic car is the same, the gt has a different front bumper side skirts rear bumper and wing. you could buy all those parts or you could save time and trouble and just get a gt and not an lx

insurance companies assume gt means lots of hp and lx means slow but luxery soits safer and less likely towreck


i love my lx. i pay $75 a month for insurance. i just pulled a 550hp motor out of it and will soon be dropping in a 750hp motor..........stupid insurance companies, what do they know lol

Well that's about 10 cents a month per hp, that's not bad. I should changed my badges so they say lx on it lol.

Changing badges will not change insurance rates. They go by VIN.
