Auto tranny question
My 1987 AOD has **** the bed. I have a shop here who will rebuild for approx. $2500- Does this price sound right? It's a reputable shop for all I can tell or should I buy an aftermarket tranny and have someone put it in for me.I do not know how or have the equipment to do this. What should I look for if I do have it rebuilt or buy another one? Any inof you can provide would be appreciated.

RE: Auto tranny question
I would not pay $2500 for a rebuild. For that price you could get a real tranny:TKO-600. Just kidding auto guys. Either find another or take that one out and find someone else to rebuilt it with a after market kit. You can take it out. It is easy. Just try it, if you think you cant handle it your not out anything but maybe a tow. But once you start you will want to finish.

RE: Auto tranny question
i payed 2,155 for my aode to be rebuilt w/ new better clutches, 3500 custom stall, and they played w/ valve body pressures. i think they had to change one or two things that went bad also. price had a tranny cooler purchased and installed.
