vac gauge
are you able to hook up a boost gauge to monitor your vaccume? i have extra vac ports on my intake so i figured itd be nice to measure vac all the time. that way if i have a vac leak...i know.
is this dumb? i dont want it to look kool "ooooh he has a boost gauge! wheres the intercooler?!" |

Can you hook up a boost gauge to monitor your vacuum? No. It will read 0 all the time. However, if it's a boost / vacuum gauge then yes,m you can use it to monitor your vacuum all the time. That's what I have and uit's very helpful to know how many inches I'm pulling. I found a vacuum leak recently that I wouldn't have really noticed if it wasn't for the gauge.
Is this dumb to hook up a boost / vacuum gauge on an N/A motor? Of course not! Matter of fact, I'd go ahead and hook up a narrowband gauge and a CO2 purge kit as well :D[8D] |

Yeah, in all honesty it would be a good idea. They do sell gauges that are strictly boost gauges. In my opinion they're a waste of space, in the sense that could get a boost / vacuum gauge that would be useful 100% of the time. Where as a boost gauge in a street car gets used less than 1% of the time for maybe 12 or so seconds at a time.

thanks sam, i think ill get one then. some guy around the corner from me is parting out his stang so im gonna go look to see how much he wants for his boost gauge. i'll double check is a vac/boost.

Well it's together and running after 3 weeks of bull****. But I'm still out of a palceto store it for the rough Maine winter. So I'm still in "decision" mode.
The headers are fixed, teh new midpipe is on, and the new intercooler is in. Just gott remount the tarnny cooler. |
