power window motors
My back window motors on my convertible are clicking. My question is are these motors the same as the front? Where can I get new gears? Does anyone have the motors or gears that I need?

RE: power window motors
if the motors are running you only need to change the lil plastic things inside the casing
I went to the junkyard pulled out one motor from a lincoln took the motor apart took out the plastic things
then I found a v6 mustang that had a motor that was good and took those out to
went to pay for em and it was like a dollar those lil plastice things theres 3 of them in the motor break all the time.
if your motors running just replace those some guy on ebay sells them for like 6 bucks a set.
that lincoln motor was exactly the same as my mustang motor! if the motors bad just take it with you to the jy and find one that will work

RE: power window motors
Actually the motors and housings are the same for the front and back. The difference is in the gear design. I put one of my old front motors that still worked in the rear when it stopped working. Yoy just have to swap gears. The internals are not the same, but I fabbed mine to fit and seem to be holding up well. 50 Resto does sell the replacement gears for both front and rear, as well as complete assemblies.
