Announcing my return with a new addition
redemption is the only word that come to mind..
a congradulations is in order on todays purchase, i recently stubbled upon a black 95 drop top cobra with a 2 tone, black and tan interior. 78K all original except for 03 cobra rims, bassani mid, and magnaflow cat.
Just out of curiosity what are the 5.0 SVT numbers for this forum.? because i would love to get some feedback on various aftermarket parts.

well, the aftermarkets are pretty much the same. the mechanical differences between the cobra and a gt are few.
intake, injectors, gearing i believe, 1.7 rockers, heads.
anyway, i recall about 10 or so 5.0 cobra's here that post on a regular basis

Nice pickup man! I love those years because its the best of both worlds to me: I love the SN-95 body but also like the old 302s (I'm old fashioned I guess). As far as differences b/t the GT/Cobras: it's not as much as the 4.6 Cobras but it's a little bit. Same block/pistons, but better Cobra intake manifold; 1.6 (I believe) Crane roller rockers; upgraded brakes and suspension; I think a slightlybetter cam(my Haynes manual say the lobe lift is .2822 vs .2780 for the GTs); I think slightly better mufflers, which is moot point with your upgraded exhaust; and from what I read somewhere, slightly better GT40 Iron heads.
HP is rated 240 stock, and I have yet to put mine on a dyno but I don't think the actual numbers are too far from that. There's lots of aftermarket support for the 5.0 though. The basic design has been around since the '60s after all.

Im getting plates tomorrow and autozone will be my first stop for some cleaning products. Ill up load some pictures when shes nice and clean. I picked her up for 6,000 the only downside is that there is a slight dent in one of the rear fenders and the paint needs alittle work.
