Non running motor Temp.
I have a mechanical Auto Meter temp. guage and I was wondering what the temp of the engine should get up to when I get it to operating temp and then turn it off.I'm running a 180 thermostat and the motor runs about 185. Now the guage reads all the time because its mechanical and when Idive the car and then turn it off the temp goes up likeI would think it should because now more coolant flow but how hot shouldit get up to?

mine is right at about 185 normally. when i turn off the car i've seen it get up to 210 them it starts to go down......now that in the hottest part of the day in the sun and humid.......thats normal.
